I just started Posadas County, Undersheriff Gastner books. I have downloaded to my Ipod all the audio books that our library has. I think they are great and I wish you would keep writing stories with Gastner in them. I think Rusty Nelson did a great job and wish you had kept him. The lady who reads doesn't do justice to the characters once you have heard Rusty Nelson. keep up the good work. jm

Not since Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin has there been a series which is guaranteed to keep me reading every word of every page. The Posados County guys seem like old friends! But please, don't fade out Bill Gastner. We need him.

I discovered the Posadas County books just this year and have read every one I could get hold of. I think what gets me are the rapid action and the characterizations. I thought Havill was courageous (or naive) to switch heroes from Bill Gastner to Estelle Reyes-Guzman, but they are both big time reader attention grabbers in vastly different ways; you want both of them. Posadas is so small that the number of murderers per capita has become frighteningly high. It's a good thing that the small underpaid sheriff's staff is obviously the best anywhere, putting the NM state police, the FBI, and all the British police procedurals to shame. May it go on that way, but I'd like to see the same creative license keep Gastner involved rather than have him fade off into the New Mexico sunset.

Just wanted to let you know how much my husband & I enjoy your stories! We listen on audio CDs as we are driving and sometimes bring the CD into the house to continue hearing the story. We love your characters so much! We also think your reader Rusty Nelson is terrific-he IS Bill Gastner. We just started Scavengers and we are a bit disappointed with the female reader as she makes Bill sound gruff and irritating. Your plots and characters, however, will always have us listening. You're a wonderful author and I will put you into my favorite catagory along with James Lee Burke, Robert B. Parker and John Grisham. Please continue the great work!
