For me, in "The Observatory" what interested me more than the romance between Liz and David was the relationship between Liz and her twin sister Harper. I understood how Liz felt, but then Harper told Liz how she felt. I also love the observatory that David lives in.

I found The Observatory very thought provoking, as well as gripping and highly entertaining. In its pages are profound insights regarding relationship, forgiveness and one's responsibility toward both, enlightened by life issues. It nourishes going within. This "romance" is an excellent example of the effectiveness of understatement and the highly illustrative qualities of suggestion, not explicit description. I highly recommend this novel.

I have read all of her books so far (just started on Night Train to Lisbon). My favorite has got to be The Gazebo and The Waterloo Station. She also wrote "The Fountain" and "The Observatory".
