It was with huge sadness that I heard of David's death. He was a writer that lifted my spirit on an emotional rollercoaster. His characters were straight forward honest and uplifting his work always gave me a feeling of emotional upliftment. He gave me a wonderful feeling of self and selflessness, my grief goes to his family but I also feel the intrinsic morals of his novels are overwhelming inspiring and I hope his work inspires more readers as it has myself to aspire to be greater than their base desires.

David Gemmel would have to be(in my opion)the greatest writer in his field no matter whether you call it Science Fiction/Fantasy or Heroic Fantasy or indeed Adventure Fantasy he is simply a wonderful writer.

More of skilgannon; The tale jumps a thousand years to the far future of The Eternal. I'd like to see what happened during that time, too
