I'm glad you like The Ghost Sitter so much. I'll be happy to come to your party in Florida if you pay for the plane ticket; otherwise, I'll have to pass. You'll understand that I'm not comfortable posting my phone number on the internet, but I can be contacted through my website, which also has details about school visits. This silly interface won't let me post my address, but if you search on my full name you should find me all right. My e-mail address is griffin @ idworld.net.

The proper way to write to authors is to go through the publisher. This often means that it takes ages for the author to get the mail, but it will arrive eventually without disturbing anyone's privacy. The publisher's address can be found on the book, in the indicia. I recommend using the publisher of the original edition, as the paperback or Junior Library Guild publisher may never have dealt with the author, and will just forward the mail to the publisher they bought the rights from. Hint: If you happen to know from the bio that an author lives in your town, check the phone book! If the address is available there the odds are good the author won't mind being written to directly.
