Barbara Michaels Message Board

Robyn posts on 7/17/2011 9:33:51 PM Does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list of Barbara Michaels books online? I'm slowly starting to collect them all as I love them so much. Also wondering if anyone knows of or has noticed the connection between some of the books. Greyhaven and Someone in the House as one example. Has anyone ever put them in order?
Leslie posts on 8/12/2010 4:43:39 PM Ladies, if you love Barbara Michaels you will also LOVE Canadian writer Susanna Kearsley. Her books are FANTASTIC, can't put them down. She has about 8 books so far, including Mariana, The Shadowy Horses, The Winter Sea, Named of the Dragon. Please post your comments when you have read one. They are gothic, bit of romance, ghostly, great characters and great stories, I PROMISE YOU
Cassie posts on 12/4/2008 8:01:15 PM I love Barbara Michaels. I have read her books since I was young. Actually, I just posted to the Norah Lofts forum and I've been reading her books just as long. I got into both authors when I would read my mom's books while growing up. Now they are my two favorite authors. I like Barbara Michaels but not so much Elizabeth Peters. Not sure why but the novels by BM just appeal to me more.

Kwinky posts on 11/18/2008 8:54:55 PM i really admire Barbara Michaels. She's a great writer of great stories. I have just finished reading one of her books, "Wings of the Falcon". I found the story thrilling and suspenseful. I wish I could read other books written by her...
mary wood posts on 12/29/2006 7:43:08 AM I enjoy Barbara Michaels books and own most of them. I also have some written by her as Elizabeth Peters but have never really enjoyed the Peabody novels. i wish she would write more in the gothic style.
posts on 8/18/2006 5:01:19 PM I love Barbara Michaels' books and Elizabeth Peters' also. I'm currently reading House of a Thousand Shadows, which is one of my favorites. One part really tickles me, though. The heroine has been reading in a dusty attic and then decides to do some gardening. so she goes outside "without even washing her hands." Why wash her hands when she is going to be gardening? Ammie Come Home was the first one I ever read. My coworkers were reading it and talking about it, so I got a copy and was engrossed. Did anyone ever see the movie that was made of that book? It was just a movie of the week back in the 70s, but they did a really good job with it. I've been hooked on her books ever since. And I loved Elizabeth Peters books before I even realized she was Barbara Michaels. Linda
Alive! posts on 9/27/2005 1:43:29 PM yes and no. the author has another pen name "Elizabeth Peters" under whom she is writing and has written quite a few books, notably the peabody series, (now upto its 16th book i think) I dont think she is writing as Barbara Michaels anymore. she has written some non fiction as Barbara Mertz which I think is her real name.
Katherine posts on 3/11/2005 5:57:37 PM I love Barbara Michaels books, just got through with Shattered Silk and Stitches in Time. These two are my favorites so far. Is Barbara Michaels still writing?
