I had to read this for English and it has definately stirred up some strong feelings about it. The last 3 books I read were: Davinci Code, Roots and The Concubine's Daughter. I can barely finish this book because of the lack of interest in this character and character's life.
It is written with more exclamation marks and question marks than there are paragraphs. It is a glorified diary of a spoiled, tortured (who isn't) Jewish American. Who can relate to that, raise your hands. Sorry, I want my money back, my time that I wasted reading this book back, and if I believed in "book burning" which I don't, this would be the first one. It is offensive because of the lack of literary significance or at least the percentage of significance to mindless rants is about 2% / 98%.
Hated it!

I search for different kinds of theme in Goodbye Columbus by Philip Roth. I also want the description, analysis and explaination of these themes. Thank you.

Wow! What a topic to take on. I would like to know how the author researched this "taboo" topic of my community.
