Dear Ruth Minsky Sender,
I am in Read 180 in a small school in Wisconsin. I just got done reading your book, The Cage. I thought it was an amazing book. I don’t like hearing about it, but I like learning about the history of the holocaust, so this book grabbed my attention when I was reading it. I loved how you made a book about your life and all the difficulties that you went through. My most favorable part of the book was when you escaped and the guy said that you all were free. This book is amazing and I hope you keep writing more because if you do I will read everything that you write.

Dear mrs. Minsky Sender,
I was completely mesmerized by your book "TheCage". I couldn't not put it down and I am the type of person that doesn't get emotional but I was touched by this book so much that I cried several times while reading it.
I could not believe all of the terrible things you were able to overcome. I am currently in 8 grade and I cannot begin to fathom the horror of this time period. Once I finished the book I decide to look you up and found somewhere that you live on long Island. I was curious as to whether or not you would be willing to tell me where on Long Island you live .
Thank you for never giving up hope and believing no matter what. it would mean the would to me if you could find the time to answer this.

Ms. Sender- Your book, The Cage, was wonderful. Your courage and strength are amazing. My children will also be reading this book. Your life and your writings are a tribute to those who are no longer with us. May we always remember and learn from the past. Bless you.

Dear Ruth Sender
I was a student at workmans circle in the mid 1970's where you taught yiddish and jewish education. You were extremely inspirational to me and helped foster my jewish studies as my family could not afford to join a temple and we went weekly to workmans circle instead. I recently came across your works and I knew it had to be my beloved workmans circle teacher !

We are reading "The Cage" in English class now. I believe this book is so moving and informational. You are a hero to so many people. Everyone in the school loves your book.

Dear Riva,
you are my insperation. How you kept hope and faith is unbelievable . Your book The cage helped me realize that even a hot shower or a little bit of food can be important. You are an amazing person !
