Thank you, Martin Goldsmith for all the research, conversations, trips, musical background, love of music, and love of family, as well as your writing skill brought to bear in documenting this true story. Next book? Well, you might have others in you, given your accomplishments, but would ever find the passion you had for this one?

Martin Goldsmith was in Fairbanks, Alaska this summer and gave an inspirational lecture on the above book. I just re-read it. Tears swelled up again this second reading. Bravo to Martin for researching his family's history. It's a wonderful story. Jo Ryman Scott of Fairbanks, Alaska
