Caleb Carr Message Board

J posts on 9/20/2005 2:36:15 AM I do not know what Mr. Carr will be working on next, but since you're a Conan Doyle fan, I assume you're aware of the Italian Secretary which came out this spring? I'd recommend it, although I didn't find it as atmospheric as the Alienist books, but in any case it's worth buying just to have a picture of Mr. Carr with a gun.
Danny Burns posts on 9/16/2005 3:20:05 PM I am a historian. That is to say, that I think that History is as important as anything on the planet and I read and appreciate historical text. I have only read two books bt MR. Carr and they were the fiction novels, The Alienist and Angel of Darkness. These were great novels. They brought me back to my childhood where I grew up on the novels of Sir Arthur Connan Doyle. I am just trying to find out if there are any new books coming out and to get a list of Mr. Carr's historical text. Also the title of this post is something I believe. Those who can't play, coach and those who can't write, review. If anyone actually speaks to Mr Carr, please tell him that his work stand on it's own merit. Do not listen or even read the reviews as they are written by small minded people that have never had an original thought.
J posts on 9/11/2005 9:46:47 PM So what ever happened to Caleb Carr's phony political website with which he hoped to prove the point he made in Killing Time?

Donna posts on 6/22/2005 1:17:33 PM I'm not bothered in the least my Marshalls outbursts. Quite honestly, it's a battle of wits against an unarmed opponent. Enjoy the UK, my late husband was from Hounslow England. I'll be visiting my in-laws there in September. Cheers!
tonya posts on 6/22/2005 12:29:41 PM Well.... seems i keep getting alerted every time you guys post something new...hahaha! Its getting deep! Marshall.. no comment to any thing you say.. Donna.. roll your eyes and just let it ride.. I would like to say that if Caleb hates in the internet.. why use it at all for the buying and selling of his goods? I think.. someone is not intouch with reality and is just a stick in the mud. I certainly think.. Mr. Carr can handle his own affairs without.. any input from us.. for feck sake.. I was just making a joke about his cows.. and how lovely that he takes good care of those animals.. I am engaged to a highlander in Scotland.. and have no wish to jump Mr. Carrs bones.. only wanted to roam his field a wee bit.. giggles... put that in your book and publish it!
Donna posts on 6/22/2005 12:29:41 PM Marshall, copy and paste this. "PISS OFF"
Marshall posts on 6/22/2005 11:40:33 AM I was going to leave you alone, but since you want to continue trashing me…The future of the Internet…? Psychoanalysis can now be done via the WEB? This is great! Now I won't have to even leave the house for treatment of my ‘condition'. Hee hee And Donna, “As a self-proclaimed Queen of Doom, I find it reassuring that my cynical and pessimistic views on humanity are shared by someone as brilliant as Caleb Carr…I would have strangled myself with the unbilical cord…” Wow, that's an inspirational message for the children of the future…this is a glimpse into how twisted the internet has become, and why Mr. Carr is so disturbed by it. BTW, it's not too late for the umbilical cord thing. UNbilical…You are an idiot, but I am compelled to f with you because it's been so entertaining reading your reactions. Did you not read his quote on television/internet in my previous message? Keep reading ladies, some of this just might show up in the book I'm writing. ;-) Get off your high horses FREAKS!! And this all started with a comment by someone who NEVER EVEN READ HIS STUFF...YUCK
Donna posts on 6/20/2005 1:40:40 PM Hi Janet. Thanks for your input. I'm not certain it's jealousy that is Marshalls issue. Seems a bit deeper than just jealously. Some deep seeded hostility against all woman, not just middle aged. Perhaps he had a 'THING' for his mother. He chooses to lash out at unsuspecting readers, conjouring up a bunch of twisted nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with the subject at hand. An interesting Freud specimen I say!
Janet posts on 6/18/2005 10:17:05 AM Tonya and Donna..It's obvious that Marshall's brain is a wee bit small, if the comment that Tonya made about the cows had to be explained. It's a shame that some weird puppy like Marshall just HAS to find some strange hidden meaning to a comment that was so simple and straight forward, and self-explanatory. I guess us ladies with a brain could figure out what the statement Really meant, eh? Marshall, your brain is a bit twisted, I think, and I am also glad you were nowhere near my children. Oh, and by the way, your comment about middle-aged women was so sad, might you be a tad jealous?
marshall posts on 6/18/2005 12:22:02 AM Reowr...Retract your dirty claws ~ I'll leave you alone now. It's been amusing looking into the lives of some lonely desperate women infatuated with an author (who btw, dates young women, who are assuredly much better looking and far less self-righteous than you.) …Misery anyone…#1 fans? This pretty much sums up my approach to teaching…. “Children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way he develops a good, lucky feeling.” :-) Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey caleb carr's cows forever!!!
