This book is a really good story to explain the conflicts and hardships of 1 boy, William Beech during World War 2. He goes to live with and old man, Mister Tom. William goes through 3 deaths of people very close to him, his best friend, his baby sister Trudy who dies in his arms and his suicidal mother. This book has a great ending but keep the tissues close by!
