I am a rancher, novelist, and journalist in Montana. While laid-up with a bad back my with brought Pioneer Women home from the library. Terrific book, especially considering Ms. Stratton's age when she wrote it.

Dear Joe, My suggestion, before mailing the book to Ms. Stratton might be to write her a nice letter telling her how much you enjoy her writing and ask her permission to send the book. Mary Trotter Kion

Our garden club has been given permission to plant a history garden on the mission site. We want to dedicate each flower or plant to a kansas woman, indian and pioneer,and would like to make a booklet that tells a short story for every flower. We would like permission to include short excerpts from your book PIONEER WOMEN. WE WILL OF COURSE GIVE CREDIT, AND would like to have copies available at our giftshop.
