Zdena Kapral Message Board

Anonymous posts on 11/13/2011 9:48:10 PM Just Google-searched for Zdena Kapral, and found a Social Security deaths index. Alex Kapral (16 July 1907 - 23 January 2000) Zdena Kapral (4 November 1913 - 19 April 2005) A beautiful story; it is wonderful that they and their family managed to find peace and happiness in the USA
New Reader posts on 12/15/2010 2:18:06 PM Just finished reading the book and I took notes. She may have died in 2000, but if the book is correct, she was 87, not 92. The text states she was married in 1932 at age 19. You do the math. Anyway, my sister-in-law lives about 10 miles from daughter Evie's ranch. Maybe I'll have the chance to visit and ask her myself some day. Superbly written book.
Anonymous posts on 9/10/2010 9:29:20 PM I regret to say that Alex Kapral passed away on January 23, 2000, aged 92. I found a brief obituary.

Chris Kynaston posts on 8/18/2010 5:10:24 AM Zdenas daughter Eve owns Grapevine Canyon Ranch in Southern Arizona - easy to find on Google - I'm sure it was Eve who helped her mother write the book. Read some of Eves blogs - she is a very entertaining writer and a wonderfully warm person who I have had the priviledge to meet.
Missy Aymami posts on 3/5/2010 10:40:46 PM I just read "tomorrow will be better" and I loved it. Did either of her children ever write?
JAY WOEHLCK posts on 12/24/2009 1:18:00 AM i READ THIS BOOK MANY YEARS AGO, AND RECIEVED A COPY OF IT FROM ALEX KAPRAL. Carol Lybbert posts on 10/31/2009 8:20:27 PM I just read Tomorrow Will Be Better, and wanted Mrs. Kapral to know how inspiring I thought it was, and am so glad she shared this difficult and important message. I had no idea of the suffering of the Czech people during the war. I am very happy for her and her family to have finally found peace and prosperity here in America.
Anonymous posts on 5/1/2009 6:40:42 PM I am sorry I cannot give any answers. I am Czech, my wie is American and humbly I need to say that she knew about Zdena Karpal before I did. So I am trying to get the book online in Czech (I am too lazy to read it in Engslish)
Laurie M posts on 2/7/2006 4:24:13 PM I realize that this year Zdena Kapral will be 93 years old. I see that at the end of the book she ended living somewhere in Wisconsin. Is she in good health? Is her husband? Did she salvage any photos of her time in Czechoslovakia, India, or Australia? Has she ever been back to the Czech Republic? Did she make many friends in the American/Czech community? My grandmother was from Humpolec, CZ, so any answers mean more than you know.
