I have not read an of Ms Hoffman's books yet but I was introduced to her work tonight on screen when I saw River King. Very enjoyable and makes looking to her written work likely. I am confused though. Can anyone tell me what the "smudge" in the photo was; apparently I missed something.

Unfortunately, there was a "Here on Earth" starring Leelee Sobieski and Josh Hartnet, but it didn't have the same plot. I think it's REALLY time for someone to make a film true to the book. I read that Michael Douglas's production company bought the rights for it, but I can't find ANYTHING else. Does anyone know anything about this?

I loved the book Local Girls. It was a pleasure to read and I couldn't put it down. I was very upset when it was over! I did enjoy this book.

I have just finished reading practical magic and it was definatly the best book i ever read and i think Alice Hoffman is a very clever writer!!!

I just finished The Probable Future and I am still reeling. It is your best yet and I've read them all. Thank you for the lovely descriptions and images. I am amazed.

I am doing an oral report on Alice Hoffman and I have to read three novels and relate the novels to Mrs. Hoffman's life. I read Practical Magic, Illumination Night, and Her on Earth but I can not find how the novels relate to your life. Can you please help me?
