Carlos Ruiz Zafon Message Board

Leslie posts on 7/6/2010 4:01:26 PM I loved The Shadow of the Wind, one of my favourite books of all time. The writing was gripping, the story was mesmorizing. I could not put the book down. However, I was very disappointed with the next book, The Angel's Game. It was not riveting, and about 200 pages too long! Maybe the 3rd book will be 3rd time a charm, I will give it a read also. Please post your thoughts about The Angels Game especially if you have read The Shadow of the Wind first. Thank you.
virtureis..ivory posts on 6/21/2009 8:54:24 AM I read Shadow Of The Wind a few years ago now, as a UK Import. A novel that has never left my thoughts all these years later. Pure brilliant writing by Carlos. As most have said I tried to read as slow as possible as it is as if you're living the life of Daniel and Julian so you never want it to end. So now about four years later I'm just over half way through The Angels Game and wow! Carlos has remained a stunning writer. Brings back so many memories to have the two books intertwined. So is anyone reading The Angels Game yet? I really want to share thoughts on the book ...
Sallyanne Stanford-Clark posts on 6/7/2009 9:16:13 AM From the comments on this site it seems that no-one knows of English translations of any of the books written for teens - I'm hoping this is the case as I want to use Las Luces de Septiembre for a university project as a previously untranslated text. If anyone know of a translation of this book could you let me know, please

K posts on 8/31/2008 12:32:30 AM does zafron have any other of his books translated into english????? I must read more.
Vinn posts on 3/20/2008 11:10:14 PM Shadow of the Wind is abosolutely amazing! Does anyone know if there are other books by the same author but in english?
Anne posts on 7/12/2007 10:32:40 AM I read the Lucia Graves translation and the original in tandem and feel the translation is very true to the original with only some of the humour failing to translate because of the idioms used. I am thinking of reading Marina as I see it is now in the Spanish bestsellers lists but am really waiting for Carlos Ruiz Zafon to write another adult fiction book as all his other published work appears to have been written for teenagers. Marina - I believe has many parallels with The Shadow of the Wind and was written many years before.
Alina posts on 7/11/2007 7:03:29 PM Yes!! But does anybody know where to find Marina, or any of his other books in english?? I cannot find them anywhere!!! HELP!
