Maureen Richardson posts on 3/1/2009 1:54:29 PM Dear Shiela,I didnt read your book yet "The Two of us", but have just read "just Me". Its a wonderful book,I couldnt put it down. It could have been me in the book, not all but some.Reading your book has made me come to terms with my age,Im 68,but until I read your book I was always trying to be young, now I feel good about being the age I am. Like you say in your book,we are lucky to be this age,my very best friend, who had been my friend since I was 5 and she was 10,died 6years ago and I still miss her so much, but your book has given me the inspiration to carry on with my urge to travel and feel good even though Im alone.I have been married and have 5 children but they have thier own lives to live, Thank you so much for making me see that I can do anything I put my mind to.Yours sincerly Maureen. Take Care and be happy.
Therese Cahill posts on 2/23/2009 5:28:19 PM Have read The Two of Us and am now reading Just Me. I love your style of writing and the honest, fair and humourous way you have of telling it as it is for you. Your travels have been as thought provoking to me as to you! Long may you continue your meandering off the beaten track in your quest for truth. Thank you for sharing your life experiences with us your readers and fans.

Maureen Muskett posts on 12/8/2006 11:54:39 AM Hello Sheila, Have just finished reading your book. What a beautiful moving account and I identified with so many of the things you say about how you felt after John's death as I lost my husband suddenly with a heart attack 23 years ago. Your book made me smile in some places and cry even more. Especially the poem at the end of the book. John Thaw will never be forgotten. Thank you for a brilliant read. Maureen

Ruth Blackburn posts on 10/1/2005 9:02:12 AM Dear Ms Hancock... Sheila, I can't thank you enough for sharing such personal memories and experiences of your life and the times that you shared with John Thaw, who I respected greatly, loving almost everything he appeared in - I haven't see everything yet! I also would like to express my profound admiration and respect for you, your work as an actor, author, comedienne, mother, grandmother and human being. The glimpses you gave into your life made my heart soar, tears swell and gave salve to my somewhat battered soul. Your writing had me in tears - no small feat bearing in mind that I am unfortunate enough not to have met you and John personally. I am immensely grateful to the poetry you shared with us, it lifted my spirits in a way that has been difficult for the last 4yrs. I love the way you express your joy for life - having never quite grown up, your frankness - not accepting the narrow minded and plain stupidity of others and most of all the passion with which you live your life. You may claim not to be wise or some of the other compliments extended to you but you are incredible, unique and much loved. I wish you and your family well. Much love and best wishes, Ruth
Susan Sabin posts on 8/31/2005 5:26:58 PM Sheila just read the two of us. Interesting wartime memories. An amazing insight into theatre for me. Also my first real glimpse of shakespeare, will pursue with interest. I am terminally ill with breast cancer could understand all the emotions. Been there, done that, as they say. Gave me strength again to carry on the battle. Share your views on religion, war and the after life. Would be nice to believe there was one, but there isn't. Can't imagine life without my husband, we are together always unless work gets in the way but if you can carry on without your John, there is hope for us all. YOUR NOT OLD.You are honest, intelligent, lovely, caring and not afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Couldn't put the book down, brilliant writing (though I'm no expert) will read some of your other work. Sorry for your loss.

Carol Hearson posts on 4/27/2005 2:48:20 PM Dear Shelia I've nearly finished reading the book and i've really enjoyed reading it, although it's very sad sometimes. The way it goes from the present to the past takes you emotions up and down. Thankyou for a very truthful book xx
