Essie Mae Washington Williams Message Board

Addie Line posts on 11/3/2005 9:45:53 PM I don't know why her mother's picture was not included. It was one of the first things I searched for as well. I imagine she must have been very alluring; for a multitude of reasons-her beauty being only one of them. She died fairly young especially by today's standard; Essie Mae was a young adult. It has been some time since I read the autobiography, but I believe she died in New York. I found myself often wondering about the relationship between Essie Mae's mother and Strom; the details of this relationship remain scant. I assume because Essie Mae's knowledge is limited on the details or she choses not to reveal. If the latter is true, then I must admit the book may have resonated much more deeply; because both parties had a lot to lose. Alas, unless the truth is put forward, we will never know.... Thanks!!!
