Although the Cone Gatherers is a bit difficult novel to get into it is very good for writing about .the main theme of Good vs Evil as well as the underlying conflicts of class division overall i found the novel quite tricky to get into it is wonderul to talk about in Essay's etc.

I am reading this book at the moment for english. I think it could be a much better book to read if my english teacher was better at her job and made it more interresting to read as a class. While i must admit that it isnt my favourite book it does contain good themes to write about in exams and good quotes to extract.

Anyone that finds the cone-gatherers "dull and boring" are themselves dull and boring. If they could not understand it, then why judge something you don't understand. The cone-gatherers raises some of the most important themes of post-war generation, evil, injustice and the class system.

indeed it is set in scotland, what kind of person makes that mistake,i mean honestly who.The clue is the dialogue the majority of it is in scots or even the setting.

The book is set in an estate and forest in Scotland and has nothing to do with England so i'm afraid your other page is definately wrong! This book is certainly not dull and boring as it deals with peoples views towards disability and how social class was a huge part of society during war time.

It's actually set in a forest in Scotland. Not England.
