Ever since reading Mr. McGarrity's first book I've been hooked (and I've read them all). Excellent writing, plots and descriptive scenery and I've not noticed anything terribly bad about the language. In today's standard of offensive language he's very mild, which I would commend.

In Nothing but Trouble it left a person hanging regarding what happen to the wife. Will this be the plot for your next book?

I am in the middle of 'Nothing But Trouble', trying to make it last until August '07. What a hopeless cause! I have read all the McGarrity/Kerney books and have found them to be informative, geographically accurate and very much in keeping with todays representative lifestyles on both sides of the law. As a lifelong resident and traveler of New Mexico I have been to many of the places Michael has written about. It really gives a beautiful mental image to the stories as I actually see, not merely imagine, the Plaza of Santa Fe or the White Sands and Alamogordo area or Caseys Cabins in beautiful Ruidoso. I am anxiously awaiting the 'Rule Of Law'. Keep up the good work, Michael!

I am in the middle of the Kerneys. I am starting UNDER THE COLOR OF THE LAW - my librarian recommended them. I am familiar with the Taos area and she with Albuquerque. Would it not be a wonderful girls trip to go to Santa Fe and meet Mr. McGarrity. Then we could do some touristing in some of the gorgeous New Mexico countrysides mentioned in the novels. Is it outta line to approach the author about this?
We live in east central Oklahoma. Seminole, Ok. is a day's drive one way.
Signed,
Kerney's Kaptives

This was my introduction to Mr. McGarrity and was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I went straight to amazon and ordered all of the others. He kept my interest all through the book, no dead spots and now I am hooked and waiting for the new one in December. Good work, Mr. McGarrity. The only thing wrong in finding a new author you really like is you get caught up with all of the other books and having to wait for a new one. Too bad they can't write as fast as we read! A fan, Katherine

Regardless of what anyone says about this Author, He keeps you turning the pages. I have read boooksthat are just plain nasty, McGarrity stays with the times and expresses it his books. The way he describes Keven Kerney and the different landscapes of New Mexico, makes it just that more great!

Michael has good story lines, but the language in his books is filthy, takes away from the contents. Take a clue from Margaret Coel or Tony Hillerman.
