I'm confused about the last chapter when John refers to charles jr and elizabeth as his half brother and sister. How can that be? Am I missing the whole point of the book?

where is j.d.mason originally from? I am from jacksonville texas and know where bueller is and was curious if this is based on a true story. Why did she pick that very small town to write about?

I just finished reading "Don't Want No Sugar" by J.D. Mason. It was a wonderful story but I found quite a few inconsistancies. The book's jacket tells about Roberta love of Charles Harris. As I read the book I expected Charles Brook to at some point change his name to Harris but he never did. I finally realized that it must have been a misprint. At the end of the book, John is sitting and talking with his father, Adam, formally known as Fool, son of Sara Tate and Charles Brooks, whose siblings are Charles, Jr and Elizabeth, children of Charles and Roberta Brooks but the books states that John's half brother, Charles Jr and half sister Elizabeth did well for them selves later in life.

I was only on the third page when I realized that this would be the best book I had ever read! I have recommended this book to my friend, who is a teacher and an avid reader.
This book gave me the chance to introduce a new author, one that I can take pride in being the first to read.

Absolutely breathtaking! The moment I read the first paragraph, I knew this book had me. This is one of the first books I've read by you (JD) and I am absolutely a lifetime fan now. I love the way each scene creates flavorful thoughts for the mind and very colorful to the imaginzation. My goodness - your way with words is awe-inspiring! Keep up the great work, JD!!
