What is this book about? I haven't read it. I've read several novels by this author and I respect him very much and have enjoyed everything I've read by him immensely, with the exception of "Howards End" which I am in no position to understand very well.

I read 10 chapters of this book and have no clue what it is about who the characters are and why it has been written?

in howards end we as the reader are exposed to a collision of ruths old natural world and the new mechanical world of henry and charles forrstrer uses the schlegels as the bridge between the two.as a result margarets mariage to henry shows signals the end of natures true apreciation but also the melllowing of capitalism and so an equalibrium is met perfect for english, drama and politics students as all three areas are capyured so perfectly in the basts and schlegels
