Blue Highways, by Least Heat Moon is a wonderful book. I recommend it for everyone.

Is the "Blue Highways" experience of the 70's possible in today's crazy world. I am thinking of driving cross country from New England to the West coast in May....I am wondering how best to see the country and its beauty...which routes, etc. any old hippies out there that have experienced this road trip recently??????????

One of the most fasinating and enjoyable books I've ever read. Heat-Moon in a master with words. I still pick that book up periodically to get a little "fix" of his brilliant use of the English language.
