Aimz, 1) I don't think the book was in the library as part of the Mystery/plot. Julia Quinn has a warped sense of humor and it was there as comic relief. 2)Garrett was financially cut off by his father when he was 18. They were looking for the jewels so he'd have his inheritance from his grandmother and be able to pay off his fathers debts when he does die. 3) If you are familiar with the earlier Bridgerton books you know that Hyacinth was a very outspoken precocious child. Her daughter did exactly what she would have. As to the order of books go to Julia's website or start with the Duke and I for the Bridgertons-Splendid for the Blydons-Everything and the Moon for the Lyndon sisters.

The ending left me a bit flat and I have 3 questions I need answers to :
1) Who put the book Miss Davenport and the Marquis in the St Clair library if no one ever goes there. They vaguely said that it could be Gareth's late brother's wife but it was never confirmed. I thought this was purposely added to the mystery plot.
2) Did Gareth's father die with all these debts for Gareth to pay? Thus, the reason why the search for the jewels started in the first place?
3) What was little Isabelle's St Clair's reason for keeping the jewels hidden from her mother?

I am going to read a Quinn book but don't know where to start. In series books it is nice to start at the beginning instead just to pick a book and find out there are three other before it. Can you give me an order in which her books should be read? Thanks.
