I promised myself that Id write on this message board just because of how this book touched me.I just wanted to say that this book(The kite runner) is really awakening and makes one snap out of the utopia of life that many of us are trapped in. Its not until you realize what children in war especially in the Middle east go through everyday that you think how priviledged you are in life.A Very inspiring book!

The ethnicity of the main character is referred to as Arab. This could scarcely be more mistaken. Pashtun and the other ethnic groups in Afghanistan are not Arabs. A simple fact check would have cleared up this error.

I wonder what the Titanic City book is about. Im halfway done with A thousand splendid suns. Im at the part where Lailas friend died, and it was very mind provoking to what her mother did. Thinking that there are actually mothers doing that to this day.

A Thousand Splendid Suns- is excellent. I loved it from page one all the way to the end. I even liked it better than Kite Runner, if that is possible. Hosseini is an engaging writer. The book is a page turner, and I almost cried at one point, which is unusual for me. I listened to the book on CD and the reader did a fabulous job. I'll buy the book when it comes out in paperback and read it as well......Do NOT pay attention to criticisms: the book is worth every dollar spent! It will stay with you forever.

to Jilly: The Kate Runner was Khaled Hosseini's first novel, he is writing another one, which we can expect next year (as far as I know from his office). I like this book very much and suggested my friends to read it.

I am an Iranian reader of the book, what can i say about his work?! we never had such a war and mess in Iran but i can feel his writings with my heart, we had revolution, our king is gone, we have taliban, all those pains are kinda familier, here is something Farsi for him only : EMROOZ NA AGHAZ O NA ANJAM E ZAMAN AST, EY BAS GHAM O SHADI KE PAS E PARDEH NAHAN AST, DOOSTAM GHAM E AMIGHI O BE YADAM ANDAKHTI

I'm interested to know, to what extent does the KITE RUNNER contain any autobiographical content?

I just started to digest the book. It is such a mesmerizing and heart-breaking one, at the same time very informative in the sense that both the abstract and plain ideas together with some sociological and historical facts that characterize the book make it a guide book to knowing Afghanistan

I really liked this book. I wish there was still lot more to read in this book like what happens later? Will Sohrab speak again? It is worth reading this book. I insist everybody to read this because this is the great book to learn more about friendship.
