Brad Ronco posts on 12/31/2005 10:00:05 AM Hi Jean, My great-grandfather Augustin Rancourt was from St. Francois de Beauce. We've been in Maine since the 1840's. Another branch since the early 1800's. You probably know all the Rancourt genealogy back to Normandie. The family name was originally "de Rancourt", I belive. Meaning of/from "Rancourt".Did you know that there was a town named "Rancourt" in Somme, Picardy which I belive is east of Normandie nearer to the German border. This leads me to believe that Jean-Pierre may have sailed from Caen, but the family was originally from Picardy. That's all for now. Bradley
Jean-Rock Rancourt posts on 12/30/2005 9:56:46 PM For Brad and Dan Ronco Who are you ? I bet your ancestors were in Sartigan when General Arnold marched on Quebec in 1775. Most of your ancestors lived on the Msakkikkanne river (now Chaudiere River) See Ya
