This book is wonderful and should be read by every Canadian; easily the best of the Deptford trilogy and a true classic. Many of the free online reviews I have read give only the simplest plot summaries and miss many of the important issues raised. This work will be taught for years to come and deservedly so!

Hey cordovagirl, Fifth business isn't something students choose to read, were forced to read it as part of the grade twelve curiculum. So the next time you decide to shoot off your mouth climb into a burlap sack and jump into a lake. Then try some multi tasking, like under water basket weaving and holding your breath. P.S don't come up untill that basket's done. I'm actually surprised a message like yours was allowed to be posted by this site seeing as it's nothing but a juvinile attempt to make yourself feel better for having an obviously dull life.

In doing research for a project on this book, I came to read the post by someone very rude. I just wanted to say that it's an amazing process to open your mind and learn new things. Don't let people like that tell you different!!!

Anything on the Manticore would be really awsome and greatly appreciated.

Hey, I was also wondering if i could get the chapter summaries to Fifth Business, I seem to be struggling to grasp the main point that the book is getting across. If I could get those it would be a MAJOR! help. Please and Thankyou Lisa

In examining the messages posted, pleading for help in obtaining chapter summaries of Davies's work,I can't help but laugh at the irony. These are the very people who have absolutely no business trying to read his novels, or even enrolling in a class that would make the mistake of asking such cretins to read the novels. Jesus, just take a course in underwater basket weaving, for God's sake! No, wait, that might be too intellectually strenous. Just move on to your business major, or whatever.
