Hi Polly, I teach 5th grade, and Pictures of Hollis Woods is one of the novels my class reads. If you'd like any of my material let me know. I gathered information from various websites and my own material to compile a unit. My email is franbny2000@yahoo.com Francesca

My grade is doing a book report this year where you have to read at least two books by an author that you haven't read before and write a book report about each in addition to comparing the books that you read. I have decided to do Patricia Reilly Giff and it just so happens that that turned out to be my teachers favorite author. SHe recently did an end of class report on P.R. Giff when she had to read all of her books and display her work. Having just done a report she has work she did that is open to being shared. I am hoping I have time to read three books but so far I've been sick for a week and now I seriously doubt I'll get done on time at all. If any one has any tips you could post them here so I will read them. Address you tips to Cowsrule666. I will come back on often. Please help. Bye!

My mom and I are in a mother/daughter book club. We have read "Lilly's Crossing" and will be meeting tomorrow night to discuss "Pictures of Hollis Woods". We really enjoy her writing, and were wondering if there was a way we, as a book club, could send a letter to Mrs. Giff. Thanks

I am in the MSU elementary eduaction program. We have to do a unit plan on a tradebook. While I was off for Christmas break I read "pictures of hollis woods". I want to do my unit plan for this book. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a thematic unit for this book. I will need some writing projects, spelling words, vocabulary, etc. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

What caused Patricia Reilly Giff to write Lily's Crossing?
