My grandmother read this book when she was younger and liked it so much she asked my mum to name me Amber. I few years ago i read it and loved it. Am thinking of reading it again. Amber is totally tricked in the end. she goes to America thinking that his wife has died and when she reaches there, having left her whole life behind, she will see she's still alive. I couldn't believe it!!!! I had to read it 3 times before it sunk in.

Actually on another site, I read that there was supposed to be a sequel written called Amber in America, but for some reason Winsor never did.

I just finished Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor. It is a great book and I really enjoyed reading it. I understood everything except for the ending. Did Amber go to America? Did she know about the plot? I'm just wondering what the ending meant.
