Teddy relapses it pretty obvious i feel, he finally comes to the conclusion he is wrong and is actually insane as the book says he has done previously,i was sure he relapses when i read the ending again he says to chuck 'we need to get off this rock' chuck says ' i knew you would say that' and shakes his head and nods to the orderlies who bring over teddy's straightjacket, they wanted to give him one last chance but sadly he is beyond help!

Like many of the messages I have read on this website, I am a great fan of Dennis Lehane's books. His books are so well crafted, he writes beautifully. I have ready books by other well known crime writers and quite frankly have been left disappointed. He has set such a high standard for me. Are there any other writers of his calibre that you could recommend. Also have you any idea if he is thinking of writing another Kenzie and Gennaro book?

The next novel is called "The Given Day" and will be released on September 23, 2008.

I was typing my name in google one day and was suprised to find this book series with my name as one of the main characters. I went and saw Ben Affleck's Gone,Baby,Gone and was amazed. I am wondering where Dennis Lehane got the name Angela Gennaro from. Is she a real person? I feel so famous!

I read that interview and got a different impression... all he said was that he "might" write another like Mystic River, and never promised to bring Kenzie/Gennaro back. That would be great, but I think you're reading too much into that interview, and after this long silence, I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong.

I've heard that Kenzie and Gennaro are making their way back into the pages of another Lehane novel, but first he is writing another in the same vain as Mystic River which could include some of the same characters in minor roles, then he promises to bring back Kenzie/Gennaro, saying that after everything he has put them through, they needed a break.

I've heard that Mr. Lehane has decided to end the Kenzie/Gennaro series... something like "I think I've put them through enough". I would love to see another, but the subsequent books were so good it's hard to complain. However, it has now been nearly 2 1/2 years since a Lehane book was released. After such huge early success, this is hard to understand. I can find nothing on the web to indicate that he has anything new coming out. Is he okay?

This was my favorite of all the books I've read so far. I'm half way thru shutter island and is great. Every book of lehanes is brilliant and I hope there are more to come because I've almost finished reading them all and I don't want to have to find another author.

I agree Bob, Shutter Island was one of his best. After Mystic River of course!
