Heard Ms.Leon on NPR this week, the morning after I'd finished reading "Blood From A Stone". Love all of her work and was delighted to actually hear her voice during my morning commute. Can't wait to get my hands on her '06 novel. Donna's Venice is wonderful and so true.

Congratulations to Ms. Leon on the US publication of her 15th Guido Brunetti book, "Through a Glass Darkly," a most welcome -- and worthy -- addition to the series. Her writing is as luminous and illuminating as the spring Venetian sunshine, and grows ever more graceful (who would have thought that even possible?). I have re-read her books several times over, simply for the pleasure of basking in the elegance and sheer beauty of her prose, and always in awe and appreciation. Thank you, Ms. Leon, and please write #16 swiftly, lest we doom ourselves to Inferno's Third Ring in our greedy desire for the next adventure of the Commissario (and Signorina Elettra) ...

I would like her to write about Paola's father's past-he has such a presence whenever he appears in her books and obviously has led a very interesting and eventful life.

"La Fenice" is listed on the Internet Movie Database web site as "in production" with O'Toole and Firth, but there's nothing more than that.

loved the latest book having received it for my birthday, I always enjoy the characters, especially guido brunetti and paola is inspiring!
i thought it was a shame there were so many errors in print in this latest story however, and my book started to come away from the spine on the first read.

Where is Donna living now? I used to be her student when she taught in Aviano, Italy. Is there an e-mail address I can reach her at? Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

not only do my husband and i absolutely adore the donna leon books with guido et al (my husband's secret fantasy is, I'm sure Senorina Elettra),
but we both salivate at the descriptions of the lunches that paola turns on for her family. Is the venerable Ms Leon EVER going to publish these wonderful recipes?

Being a great fan of the CommisarioBrunetti ovels I would love to know if any have been made into films for TV or otherwise and how I can obtain copies. It is ok if they are in Italian. With thanks Pat

I am currently working on the translation of Donna Leon's "A Venetian Reckoning". I try to make footnotes explaining what this or that sight in Venice is famous for, whenever it is mentioned. But this time I just can't make out which statue is ment in the following passage: "Directly in front of him was the statue Brunetti had always thought of as the Meringue Man? so starkly white and porous was marble from which he was carved. Other people, seeing the pile of books that seemed to issue from beneath his coat, called him something more indelicate" If anyone could help me in identifying this mysterious :)) statue I'll be very grateful. My e-mail is oberfeld@yandex.ru
