I'd just like to say how much I enjoyed this book. Then I saw the movie and was so touched that I'd like noyhing more, than to move to Savannah, Ga. Being from S.C. it would almost be like going back home, where I'd truly like to be, if finances could make it possible. I love the deep south, the good people, scenery,the fresh air. How I miss it so.

I am well into the City of Falling Angels and I think it is even better than Midnight. I just read the Mario the Fireman section and it is priceless. I am currently in Amman, Jordan staying with my brother's child and three dogs and a cat since he is in London recovering from an auto accident. I would love to send you some of my scribblings and encourage you to consider Amman for your next book. Write me.

I just bought your book, The Garden of Good & Evil, & look forward to reading it.
I'm wondering if we could be related? My father, Henry Carl Berendt, came to Lodi California from Wishek North Dakota along with his family. My grandfather's name is Carl Berendt & had left Germany with his family & lived in Russia for a time. Have very little info previous to that.
When my grandfather came to Lodi CA, he changed our name from Berndt to Berendt because of all the Berndts living in Lodi.
Would like to hear from you.
