Margaret George Message Board

Deborah posts on 9/3/2005 10:05:47 PM I thoroughly enjoyed this book. After reading this, I feel that I understand King Henry much more than in the past. Because it was written in his own words, the reader comes to know Henry and understand the reasons behind many of his actions. This book makes him seem more human than many of the others do. Margaret George actually made him a likeable person, who at times, seemed very misunderstood and lonely. You come to realize that while it may be "good to be the king", it is not easy to be the king. Thank you, Ms. George, for a wonderful, interesting and poignant novel.
