jason rules... i love the bourne identity...to say it's my favourite book would be the understatement of the milennium...jason is just the best...besides, he isn't just a *killer* as they say in the analysis out here...he's an oriental scholar and professor...also he is *very* warm-blooded as opposed to carlos, and ludlum presents him very well. supremacy and ultimatum were not all that great...but identity stands alone! it's a classic...

Why did they leave out The Jackel from the movies? This was the whole plot in the books and why they were so good. The movies were entertaining enough; but if you have read the books, you will become very frustrated with the movies. The Jackel was why Jason Bourne was created. To leave this out of the movies makes no sense. They butchered a great story and killed any chances of making a great movie.

What was the name of the novel where the plot was to transfer body parts (heads) from one person to another.

I find it hard to watch the Bourne movies. The changes to the characters and the story frustrate me. I am revisiting Ludlums books for the third time at the moment. I just love his beautiful style of writing and the intricacy of the plots. There is just no comparison with the later ones written by ghost writers after his death or the ones by Lustbader. Lynne.

Michael, regarding the Bourne books and the movies....there are vast differences in characters and character representation. Read the books, they are HEAPS better!

Has everyone received Universal's announcement that The Rhinemann Exchange will be released on DVD in July 2007? Unbelievably it will be less than $20 for 5 hours for the miniseries.

I'm reading the Bourne Ultimatum before I see the movie next month, but the book has me confused about the first two movies. Characters killed off in the movies are main characters in the book! Did the first two books not have the characters killed?? I guess I need to read the first two books to get the real stories. Info please!

The movies are not really like the books but are enjoyable in their own right. The books are so much more involved and are amongst the best I have ever read. Eric Van Lustbader has written 2 sequels to the the Bourne series..The Bourne Legacy and his new one The Bourne betrayal. Both are good stories and it was enjoyable to read about a character I really liked but unfortunately he doesn't come anywhere near Ludlum as a writer. I have read all of Ludlum's books 2 and some of them 3 times.

After watching the first two Bourne Movies, I read the Bourne Ultimatum. I just saw the trailer for the movie and it doesn't look like the book. Were the first two books different from the movies?
