paul a. rutter posts on 3/8/2008 3:01:06 PM Dear Sirs, In "Deep Fire Rising", how can an author smart enough to explain the theories on pages 134, 135 & 136, tell innocent readers that the guns, (fully automatic and "Silenced") were pobably bought at a gun show. This contributes to "Little old ladies" screaming for gun control after they read something like this that has been written by a respected author that should know better. You can not, and haven't been able to buy "Fu lly automatic, and/or silenced weapons for years in any United States gun show.
Keven posts on 10/23/2006 11:44:28 AM I was so thrilled with Pandora's Curse that I recommended it to my sons then looked for more of Jacks books. I bought two more (Medusa Stone and Deep Fire Rising). Jack is a masterful story teller who does not need to resort to using foul language so why does he do it? There are as many as 5 and sometimes more expletives per page. I cannot for the life of me think that readers would be turned off with their absence but I certainly can see many (my self included) being turned off by their inclusion. Take a lesson from Clive who cleaned up his books and has not suffered in the least!
posts on 10/8/2006 6:34:29 PM I'm an avid reader of Mr Jack Dubrul. Had read all of his books. Most happy to hear he is writing again, Hope he continue the adventures of Mercer who is my favorite character.
posts on 6/27/2006 3:54:17 PM All- Per Amazon, the next DuBrul novel is "Havoc", coming out in October. I assume this is a new Phillip Mercer novel. Its coming out in hardcover, which means he has 'moved up' in the eyes of his publisher. He is now co-writing the "Oregon Files" with Cussler. He did the previous "Dark Watch" and the upcoming "Skeleton Coast" (also out in October). His website is gone, btw.
posts on 6/20/2006 12:50:26 PM I was just checking on Amazon and saw that Jack has collaborated on a lot more novels with Clive Cussler than I first imagined. He is also coming out with a new hardback in the late fall. Before his web site went down, someone said they heard from him and at that time, the bad news was that his book wasn't coming out until next year (this was in 2005). So now it is finally being publicized. Check out Jack DuBrul on Amazon and you'll see it.
posts on 6/15/2006 9:41:49 AM Thank you Fred for the information on Jack's age. I knew his father and uncle in Burlington, Vt. in the 60's.
posts on 6/14/2006 10:14:57 AM Jackie, I believe Jack is in his thirties so he would have been born sometime in the seventies. Fred
