I think my wife would really enjoy the darkover series but I was wondering which book I should buy for her fist. I know there is publication order, and chronological order... I was wondering which of these would be best, or if there is another book that isn't the first in either of these orders that would be a better book to start with.
Thanks

I know the post is a long time coming but Marion Zimmer Bradley knew quite a bit about the craft and was even a known practioner, but just like Igraine she too turned to Christianity near her death. In my opinion SHE didn't have a poor opinion of Christians it's those of Avalon. I think it's the best version of the Arthurian legend in exsistence. I've read the book probably 6 times a year over the past 5 years. To me it is the greatest book. The movie's not so hot and a bit distorted. I love these characters as though they were real people of flesh and blood. Possibly because I am pagan. Who knows?
