The Sending's release date has been confirmed as October 31st this year. I have a contact in the company that prints the books, and first copies are set and bound. A good sign I'd say. As for the Gateway Trilogy, current news says that The Firecats Dream (3rd in the Night Gate trilogy)wont be released until after The Red Queen is released (which sould be late next year). So we are probably looking at a 2013-14 release.

So did Isobelle Carmody finish writing the 3rd book of the Gateway Trilogy? My daughter read the first 2 and I've been searching for "The Firecat" as thats what the 2nd book said the 3rd was called. All the library databases don't have anything. Any info??

I'm not getting any younger - I just wish Isobelle would finish the series that she's started. To learn that Darkbane has been in draft since the early 2000's is irritating. I doubt she would have any trouble getting anything published and as a teacher I am loathe to recommend her books - which I usually do as there are so few quality Australian authors for younger people.

The latest release date for The Sending is November 2011!!!!! My son is now the same age I was when I started reading this series...I hope the series is finished before I become a grandparent!

Hi Isobelle Fans! I want to invite you all to come see a play based on Isobelle Carmody's short story, THE PHOENIX, at Yale Summer Cabaret this July. Isobelle is really excited about the play, as are we. Buy tickets at www.summercabaret.org!

I'd love to be able to recommend Isobelles's books to everyone. They are beautifully imagined, engaging and contian the best story I've ever ready (?And that's a lot!). But the sad fact is that I was given a copy of Obernewtyn for my birthday in June, 1988. I've been waiting over 20 years for a conclusion to this story. I know all the arguments for taking so long to finish - but how could I possibly justify recommending something that you may have to wait 25 years to see the ending! Don't think we will try any new ones - not for me or the kids... such a shame.

I'm so pumped for Darkbane! I cannot get this trilogy out of my mind!! By the way, to the person who mentioned Peter Jackson, I live in NZ and it's proven that everyone here lives within 2 degrees of separation. So I'll put in a good word for Isobelle Carmody's books. :P

Ive been waiting for Darkbane for a good 8 years, ever since Darksong was released. I understand that writing isn't easy, but its getting really frustrating and I'm close to giving up entirely...

if your so impatient for this book to be published how about you write it your self. i think it is well worth the wait and another year or so isn't hurting anyone; isobelle carmody, your books are amazing ♥
