B.W. Costello posts on 8/21/2005 2:52:36 PM Hi all, Hoping someone here can help me--I'm doing some research on the intersections of comic books and the American South, and I'm trying to figure out if the earliest John Carter of Mars comics adaptations--the ones in Dell Funnies that ran from 1939-1941 and the newspaper strips--made reference to, ignored, or altered Burroughs' references to Carter's past as a Virginian and a Confederate officer in A Princess of Mars. Thanks!
