If anyone is interrested, the house belonging to Lloyd Biggle Jr. will be for sale sometime in 2006. This was his only residence during his writing career. It is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Ken Biggle

I borrowed the novel MONUMENT by Lloyd Biggle from a university library, sometime before 1990. I also read the short story in Analog 1. When I bought the novel in paperback form and read it, the story was not the same as the novel that I read from the library. It was shorter, and had fewer people dying. Can anyone tell me what I read, was it published as a novelette in some collection somewhere, was there an abrigded version published somewhere? Did I read an earlier version of the novel, and it was later rewritten by the author for publication? Any help would be appreciated.
