Sounds like we need to hook Rick and Emma up. Sounds like a match made in heaven or hell, however you want to view it. Rick, I didnt even "bribe" my wife with a card yesterday, nor did I get one in return. We ordered a heart shaped pizza and just watched TV with our newborn daughter. Its not what you give or get, its the thought behind it.

My wife loves valentines and our wedding anniversary, because we are in love with each other, not because someone told us to celebrate our love. Emma is going to live her life like her idol, Liz Taylor, old, fat, lonely and depressed, not a good future to look forward too. But, she tries to drag others into her misery. That is the SAD part!

I agree with Emma 100%. The world we live in is fake. Anybody can buy into a relationship if they have the money and desire to do so. I hate Valentines day as well as most of the other holidays. What about some quality time with a good friend? I feel that time would be a better gift than a bribe. I would like to read her new book and I admire her honesty. Good writers always write about what is inside. Sometimes we are disturbing creatures. I would want my woman to expose all of her inner feelings even if her cat ranks higher than me. By the way, my dog is my best friend.

I bet if you could actaully get somebody to love you that you would think different about Valentines Day. Dont try and make everybody else bitter just because you are a scorned woman. My wife and I love to spend time together on every day of the week and Valentines Day just gives us one more reason to show our appreciation for each other whatever way we choose.

Not about fiction I am afraid. I am an old friend of Emmas from London. Been thinking about her for a few years now and then I found this site. Dont know how else to contact her. Obviously she is not obliged to get back to me but I would love to catch up-looks as though the girls been busy! If she has a website or anything, please pass it on! x S x
