Richard, I'll be teaching _Altered Carbon_ next week in my Longer Fiction course at the Massachussets Institute of Technology. Anything special you'd like to say about the genesis etc. of the novel, to this odd crew? I was at Norwescon when the book won the PKD Award, and had to pick it up after hearing the reading from the first chapter. Enjoyed it a lot and look forward to teaching it. Joe Haldeman
