I knew Bruce Chatwin personally. No one can write a knowledgeable review about Bruce who never met him in person. He was an enigma, to be sure, but his works will rank long into the future as among the most unique and descriptive ever written. His style is memorable, and so was the man. There is only a hint of Chatwin in his books. We shall never see his like again.
