I love the book, it is beautifully written in the way of fairy tale. I read Monk's second book called Mermaid Chair too. Secret Life of Bees is very different from the second book. I didn't like Mermaid Chair that much as I like Secret Life of Bees. Her writing is very charismatic and creative. I enjoy her books and Secret Life of Bees is a true meaning to enjoy life.

What a beautiful book!!! So refreshing to read a gentle and unpretentious book which still has room for thought. The characters are truly inspirations in their own right. Although I have now moved on to another book I still cannot lose the spirit of this one. Lovely writing, completely without the self indulgance which seems to accompany so much fiction these days.

Hi, I just wanted to express my compliment on this book. I loved how you colored everything you saw. The language was so delightful. The story was wonderful. Thank you. And I also learned so much about bees. In fact I had went into the hospital for a precedure for my Heart and in the recovery room which was so much like being in one of the combs, watching the many attendants working so hard to see that all the paients were well cared for and the one queen bee Carol, who was directing all her workers. I sent a thank you and used some of your writings to express my thanks in taking care of me. I can hardly wait to read The Mermaid Chair. I love that fact that you write books that are spiritual. You are truly a wonderful writer. All The Best, Cherrie Rothenbuhler

A few times in my lifetime I have encountered a book worth reading, only to find I didn't really read it, I lived it. This book was one of those. I didn't want to put it down once I started it. I am telling everyone I know to read "The Secret Life of Bees."
