Elaine - Mary Jane Clark is the ex-daughter-in-Law of Mary Higgins Clark. I have read all of both of their books. They are both very talented.

The Book and the movie are titled Intensity by Dean Koontz. EXCELLENT READ Koontz is one of my all time favorite authors - I have read everything he has written and only been disappointed twice!

In Feb. 2004 I watch a movie on Lifetime TV which I'm thinking the novel was written by Mary Higgins Clark. It was about a girl who was invited by her best friend to spend XMAS holiday with her friend's family. The family was a well to do family, parents & a son along with the daughter (best friend). When at her best friend's home they had dinner & that night an intruder entered their home & killed the parents, killed the son who played a piano, & beat & raped the daughter but did not kill her. The best friend hid under the bed. The intruder proceeded to put the daughter in his big RV camper & at the same time the best friend managed to sneak into the RV to try to help her friend. While driving to the intruder's home they stopped at a quick shop & the intruder killed the store employees. They then drove to intruder's home where he had mean guard dogs (I think doberman pinchers) guarding his home. The intruder was a police officer or sheriff. The best friend found that the intruder had a vault in his basement where he was holding captive a little girl who was mentally done-in. The intruder found the best friend & chained her to a huge table. Long story short the best friend & little girl did make it out to safety, can't remember what happened to daughter or intruder but in the end the best friend adopted the little girl from a foster home. Does anyone know what this movie is called?
