"A Hansom for Mr. Holmes" by Gillian Linscott is in "Murder in Baker Street" which is a collection of new Sherlock Holmes stories by various authors. I'm only half way through the book and, so far, this is the best story. Told from the perspective of the hansom cab driver, it is funny, the language is in the period, and best of all, very Holmes-like. Makes me want to try other books by this author.
