I chose I Have Lived a Thousand Years for my school project and think it is an amazing piece of literature and needs more publicity. Does anyone know what happened to her poems? Is there any chance they'll get published?

Livia Bitton Jackson's gripping books are an eye opener for the harsh realities of the holocaust. Her books are extra-ordinairily captivating, arousing much interest in other holocaust books and the history of WW2 in general. I would really like to get in touch with Livia Bitton-Jackson. Does anyone have any contact details, such as email or anything??

It's been quite a few years, but I was in her Hebrew II class at Herbert H. Lehman College in 1983. She was an amazingly classy lady, and I'd love to talk to her again - just came back from my very first trip to Israel and I couldn't help but remember that semester.

I was drawn to the Book, "I have Lived A Thousand Years" and was shocked to tears when I read that her only friend in the factory in Augsburg was a Mr. Scheidel. I felt connected somehow and wish I could let her know. I am not Jewish but am wondering if my husband had Jewish relatives. Did she ever contact "Mr. Scheidel" after the war?

How wonderful to have Mrs. Bitton-Jackson as a friend! What a tremendous person she is! I've read three of her books and am anxiously awaiting the release of her latest one. I did find a message from her in which she most amazingly gave out her email & snailmail addresses, and I wrote her, thanking her for sharing her life with the rest of us. I also found a couple of photos of her online, and she is still beautiful, just as I pictured her beauty when she described herself as a tall, thin, unfortunately (Ha!)13-year old. One thing I would love, and that would be to sit under her in a classroom, or, at the very least, listen to her speak.

I find stories like this to be motivating. The other day, I had planned to run 3 miles. At each mile, I just kept thinking "Elli wouldn't have quit running" and ended up running 6 1/2 miles. The only unanswered question I have is if Elli ever tried to find her book of poems that she gave to the young soldier early in the book.

I have read her book and of course cried! It is an amazing book and I'm blessed that tomorrow I get the chance to meet her. She is a wonderful rolemodel. If you are still reading Holocaust books you should read SHOAH by Cantor Leo Fettman, it is amazing!!
