In his book "The Last Man in Berlin" the author writes that Bruckman had given Edgar Braun "some black markat penicillin" in 1923. Penicillin was discovered by Alexander Fleming in 1928, and was not produced in quantity (thanks to Florey and Chain) until 1940!
