posts on 6/10/2006 9:00:34 AM Admittedly we all have different taste in books but for me, Trigiani's books sell fairly well because she relies on the flattery she uses on her readers. They run out and buy her next novel but after reading it they don't necessarily think much of it. All her sweet talk at book signings and in her emails won't sustain her for long. A well written, intelligent, interesting, entertaining story is far more sustaining and her's just don't fill the bill.

Paul posts on 1/28/2006 9:59:51 AM I, basically, am from the same part of the country and having a common friend with Ms. Trigiani I was disappointed with her writing. She seems to have a formula for putting words together and that is about it. There is just no bite to it. Some day, I will try to finish the book though.
Lynda C. posts on 1/4/2006 3:05:52 PM I loved Ms. Trigiani's first trilogy of novels. I enjoyed "Lucia,Lucia" but not as much as the first novels. "Rococo", I almost couldn't stand. I noticed the author's name has become larger as the book title becomes smaller and wonder if it is a sign of the diminishing quality. I found it so distasteful to mix a theme of supposedly religious and yet immoral people. It offended me. I also wondered if the author has been watching a lot of "Trading Spaces" as that is what a lot of the descriptive dialogue reminded me of. I believe her earlier works were more heartfelt and this one more frivolous. I was disappointed with this read.
Ave Maria posts on 11/15/2005 7:45:22 PM As a female Italian-American I can truly identify with characters and themes in Ms Trigiani's work...and was I floored when I discovered one of her characters and I share the same name...Ave Maria!
