i read the book but i am not so sure what the main themes are could you please discuss this on the message board

The Godfather did have a wife but the women had no roles in the family bussiness. She did not play a big role in the story. It is mentioned that Sonny will tell their mother Michael is okay when he hides in Italy. So when Michael took over the bussiness Kay did not understand that she was not to be a part of that and Michael had to lie to her and push her away.

hi, i read the book and i was wondering why Godfather did not have a wife and why Micheal, after becominga godfather, he stand far from his wife and he lied to her. why the innocent godfather had a violent succesor?. does this srory traces american bloody history or it has nothing to do with the past. i noticed a jew in the novel, why a jew?
