Marcia Willett Message Board

Leslie posts on 8/5/2010 1:41:40 PM I loved the Courtyard by Marcia Willett. I think I have another of her books to read in my pile of books, I can't wait to get into that one. It's nice to find an author that writes great characters and you feel that you know them. Similar authors would be Rosamunde Pilcher or Maeve Binchy. Have a nice day
Mili posts on 5/27/2008 10:42:45 AM “Memories of the Storm” is coming out on paperback in June in the UK. Unfortunately the US market is not reliable at all. I get most of mine from the UK, including the new hardcover The Way We Were to come out also in June. In the US our options are the sources I mention in my November 2007 post.
theresa pockl posts on 5/26/2008 11:35:49 AM I am looking for a used copy of Memories of the Storm by Marcia Willett, available in USA.

Mili posts on 11/1/2007 7:28:47 AM The Book Depository (posting is not taking the link but it is book depository (dot) co (dot) uk/ has excellent prices and free postage. Same with Amazon (dot) co (dot) uk/ is pricier in the sense that you do have to pay postage but you find all the books, and as last resort there is Alibris.com, also eBay has some. It is unfortunate that the US market does not have such an excellent writer. Marcia has 17 novels out, plus her 4 Willa Marsh and these are much harder to find. And there are only 3 novels with double titles: #1 Those Who Serve (in US “First Friends”), #2 Thea’s Parrot (in US “A Friend of the Family”), and #12 Forgotten Laughter (in US “A Summer in the Country).
Marg McCulloch posts on 10/31/2007 6:06:53 PM It is not too easy to find Marcia Willett's books. I have bought all of mine on Amazon.ca. Chapters does not have very many of hers, nor does Barnes and Noble in the US. I really need to read a new one of hers. I think I have read all she has out. You really have to be careful because some of her older titles have been published under different names now.
Mili posts on 10/31/2007 2:05:06 PM I LOVE Marcia Willett! Yes it is easy to find her novels. It is best to read them all and in order of publication, from Those Who Serve (First Friends) to Memories of the Storm. There are reappearing characters and it is like a breathtaking sequel! And yes a sequel to the Chadwick Trilogy has been promised!
Randi posts on 8/20/2007 2:42:47 PM The builder/renovator ROB was sli[pping in and out of Mooregate....I have no idea who the person was in the beginning and end, but perhaps it doesn't matter? Is it easy to find Marcia Willett's books?????
Marg McCulloch posts on 1/29/2006 8:07:52 AM I have just finished reading thirteen of Marcia's books, and have enjoyed everyone of them so much. I just finished the trilogy of the Chadwick's this morning and am wondering if it's to be continued. I will start rounding up the books by Willa Marsh now. I presume they are just as enjoyable? Well Done!!
Marcia Willett posts on 6/15/2005 11:44:18 AM This was a device to create a prologue and an epilogue. He was one of the many people who take walking holidays on the moors and happened to see 'both ends' of the story. It was Rob that he saw - returning to Moorgate to spend the night there.
RITA COE posts on 6/7/2005 10:01:15 PM Dear Ms. Willett: I discovered your books a couple of years ago, and cannot tell you how much joy they have given me. An ex-Brit now living in California, your descriptions of the countryside and nature evoke so many memories for me. I so enjoy, too, all of the wonderful animals you write about and their thoughts! Please keep writing! I'm now reading "The Birdcage" and find it hard to put it down. The ironing can wait! Thank you so much.
