His biographical novels, on the whole, are good reading. Eickhoff is a good story-teller, even though there can be found evidence of repetition of key words and phrases. That being said, the material he uses can be found in previous works by earlier authors. The next Great American Novel has yet to be written. Eickhoff might be that man. Then, again, he might not. Time will tell the tale.
