While deployed to Somalia in 92-93 I came across a coverless paperback almost covered by sand in the middle of the once US Embassy compound. As a Marine I did the first thing that came to mind...pick up the trash. I started reading this book and found myself reading it 3x and carrying it in my cargo pocket while on patrols. I was always reminded of the character as a ship that was sinking off shore (old port) was also named Felix. Only upon my return to the states did I find out what the name of the book was. I still have that copy and still read it every so often. I would like an audio version of it sometime to get the authors true perspective. It inspires the engine in all of us to do what it takes to accomplish the mission and survive. Thanks Mr. Steakley.

I am 20 years old I am in the Army and I can really identify with alot of the points. Like doing missions even when they are pointless Top brass that does not have any idea what is going on. I am in R.O.T.C and the book tells just what kinda of officer not to be. I really enjoyed your book it was well written If you get this do drop me a line thanks for your work. I read often but only every 3-4 years do I come across a book that is this good. I frear it will be awhile till I read another that is this hard to put down.

dear John I have been reading sci fi since my preteens. I am in my 50s now. I buy books constantly and I save all my books. I have read your Armor the year it came out and fell in love with it. I have been looking since for you to write another book about the character. He was a good character the way you wrote him. Do not leave him there but move him forward. Maybe if you read this you can send me an email and we can talk. I would like to hear your thoughts.
